The Lady Diana Foundation

Diana made an impact on individuals all over the world, not just the people of England. This is a recognized fact, which is exactly why people want her life’s work and legacy to continue, even after her passing. The Lady Diana Foundation was created 40 days after Diana’s passing on October 10, 1997. The foundation’s goal is to keep “the bright memory of the Princess and continue her work – humanism, compassion, and support for the people in need, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual preferences” (Lady Diana Foundation). The Foundation strives to better the world through generosity and inclusion. It is supported by the British community and internationally recognized in 19 countries.

The Lady Diana Foundation has taken part in many initiatives to help improve the lives of others. Such as helping raise money and gather materials after an earthquake in Columbia in 1999. The foundation also took part in rescuing Bulgarian nurses who were wrongly accused of actions that led to the HIV epidemic.

The Diana Award

The Diana Award was created in 1999 and is given to young individuals in the United Kingdom who have taken initiative to create positive change within the community. The award supports many programs to help the youth in the UK, such as the anti-bullying campaign, as well as training thousands of students to run campaigns at their own schools. Similar to Diana’s messages they strive to educate today's youth. They also created an initiative in 2021 called Changemakers. The Diana Award explains that the inative “aims to change the inequalities in mental health experienced by young people from racialized communities."
